Barrecode, a new & unique training modality combining Pilates and functional strength

Barrecode is a unique concept created, here in Hobart, that combines Pilates and functional strength and mobility movements based around a wall sprung Barre.

The combination is designed to give you a full body workout that includes cardio, strength training, and restoration.

Created right here in Hobart, Barrecode  delivers you a balanced fitness routine that includes five key training essentials:

  • Flexibility and mobility
  • Strength and resistance training
  • Postural and core strengthening
  • Breath awareness and balanced focus

A dynamic, enjoyable experience while challenging your to achieve your highest potential.  The interval training, isometric exercises, self-myofascial release, and yoga experiences you have had in the past will not compare with the experience you will have in one of our Barrecode classes.

 

Cardiovascular fitness

Unlike any other cardio training you have had, this is a full body workout that uses functional exercises and those that utilize your full range of motion.  Although they are predominantly strength based, your whole body will benefit from the strategically created exercises.

Cardiovascular fitness is determined by how well your heart, blood cells, and lungs provide oxygen-rich blood to your working muscle tissues allowing them to create usable energy.

Barrecode gives you a fun and exciting way to naturally give your body the energy it needs to function and complete your everyday tasks.

 

Flexibility and Mobility

Your flexibility and mobility are very important be it completing simple  or complicated daily tasks..

Flexibility is how easily you can stretch your muscles, and mobility is the range of motion each of your joints, muscles, and muscle tissues have.

The Studio gives you the opportunity to improve both with our Barrecode classes.  Each class will help you target specific muscles and joints to give you better flexibility and mobility.

 

Strength and Resistance Training

Strength and resistance training are important parts of any exercise routine.  They obviously help with building strength, but they also help with weight maintenance and your overall health.

The training sessions at The Studio are focused on lengthening and strengthening your muscles.  Each exercise specifically targets one muscle group and overloads it until it has reaches  fatigued.

You will work through a combination of full-range movements as well as specifically targeted isometric holds.

The goal is to improve your muscle tone, strength, and endurance in one set.  This means there is a variety of exercises combined to give you the perfect workout.

In between each set, you will work through a set of stretches to assist with lengthening your muscles and increasing your postural flexibility.

 

Postural and Core Strengthening

We take your core strengthening beyond crunches and sit-ups.  In Barrecode you use your core muscles in every exercise.

Your core muscles move your torso by extending, flexing, and rotating your spine.  They also stabilize your spine and pelvis to achieve a neutral, natural position.

Strengthening your core will help your posture as well as many other aches and pains.  Having a stronger core makes everyday tasks easier.

 

Breath Awareness and Controlled Focus

At The Studio we give you a mental and physical restorative experience through breathing awareness in Barrecode.  The dynamic, deep stretches are designed to help your body recover from any strenuous activities that you have done.

Living in such a stressful society, makes developing breath awareness more important than ever.  You will easily improve your mental and physical health just by learning to breath properly.

When you breathe properly, your body can spread more oxygenated blood through your system.  Having more oxygen flowing through your body means that your muscles and tendons are going to be able to repair themselves quicker.

Each movement also requires a controlled focus that improves your focus while completing your daily routine.  You will find that you are able to get more done because you have better focus.

Created by Christie Strike six years ago, Barrecode’s such an effective method of exercise because it uses specific, targeted exercises.  The addition of  both passive and dynamic stretches between the exercises helps improve muscle lengthening, flexibility and mobility.
