International Pilates Day is a world-wide celebration of the Pilates Method developed by Joseph Pilates aiming to increase awareness of the method. Pilates is a whole body health exercise system strongly focussing on breath and gentle movements to promote the correct alignment of the body.
We love Pilates at the Studio and we want to celebrate our love of the method with you by offering you a FREE mat based Pilates Class at the Studio South Hobart on Saturday 4 May at 8:15AM.
Some of the benefits of regular Mat Pilates practice include increased strength, mobility and stability. Improved posture results from the focus on strengthening core muscles. With continued practice your muscles will be re-educated and will start to move in a more effective way.
Anyone! We welcome everyone to come along and celebrate with us. There is no experience necessary to participate in Mat Pilates.
We’ll provide the mats and props so all you need is a water bottle, some comfortable clothing and your enthusiasm.
Jo is passionate about Pilates and the impact it has on people’s ability to live a life without limits. She has been teaching Pilates for a number of years and is currently completing her Diploma of Pilates.
When not teaching group Pilates classes at the Studio Salamanca and SoHo, you can find Jo at The Studio Hobart managing the space. The Studio Hobart is The Studio’s boutique small group and private Pilates Studio. The beautiful space is carefully curated by Jo to ensure a warm and inviting atmosphere where clients can focus on their specific goals.
You can expect a fun and effective workout with Jo with an emphasis on correct form and personal attention. You’ll finish class walking a bit taller and ready for that celebratory latte after class!
