I love keeping fit and active, taking on all of the opportunities life throws at me. I’m currently studying law, training hard at The Studio HQ and in my ‘spare’ time, I also host a brand new series called ‘Take On Tassie’!
The show, which can be found online and through social media, aims to encourage Tasmanians to explore our island and support the Tasmanian economy. So many businesses have struggled to stay afloat especially since they had to close their doors for a few months – so the chance to not only get out there and have a holiday but support incredible local businesses at the same time ticks all the boxes.
The only way I feel I can keep on top of my busy schedule and have the confidence to ‘Take On Tassie’ is through having an outlet for my mind and body. For me, that is found at The Studio HQ. The combination of exercise with breathing and relaxing in my much-loved reformer Pilates to a sweat session in the Cycle room… or full-body workout in Barre is what ultimately supports me. It is a time that is completely for myself where I can switch off and be in a safe place with the most beautiful instructors who are always welcoming and supportive.
Even throughout the stressful and unpredictable time of COVID-19, the new online platform has been a fantastic addition, and with a job like mine which requires a lot of travel, it’s so nice to have a chance to stay active whilst on the road.
Our Tasmanian backyard is world-class. Every type of destination you could want from beachfront luxury to a cozy wilderness cabin or a high-end city escape is on our doorstep… We are an island renowned for its incredible food celebrating local produce and our production of world-class wine and boutique beers and ciders.
On top of our culinary delights are the breathtaking views everywhere you go and some of the most amazing outdoor adventures, award-winning walks and mountain summits to conquer. We are SO lucky to be tucked away in this spectacular pocket of the world.
Tasmania has become a ‘go-to’ destination with the ability to offer the highest quality of everything you could possibly want. And it’s an island where when you start discovering it just keeps getting better.
The silver lining of the recent months has been the opportunity for Tasmanians to reconnect with their own ‘backyards’. The chance to appreciate its beauty and be very pleasantly surprised by its offerings. And what makes it even better are the people… Behind every business, there’s often a community or an entire family who are so grateful for your support.
So, next time you see me at The Studio HQ, why not share a story or your ‘secret’ getaway! And, for more inspiration and ideas on where to head, follow ‘Take on Tassie’ on Facebook and @takeontassie on Instagram to see some of the amazing locations we are visiting across our state.
