I fell in love with Pilates after having my second child in 2008. My back was constantly sore from breastfeeding plus I have scoliosis. I became such a fan I came every day , twice a day. A year later one a day wasn’t enough so I bought a reformer and brought it home . I was then doing one class a day and whatever I wanted at home!
Two years after joining Pilates Please ( now our studio) the owner suggested I should do my training with Studio Pilates Brisbane as my passion of Pilates was contagious . I then completed courses through Studio Pilates, Anatomy for Pilates , Matwork, Reformer and by 2011 i started teaching all the time , two years later I completed advanced reformer followed by barre attack with Rene Scott from Sydney ( she will be presenting at PAA this year ) and went in to do her next lever barre a year later. Kept teaching everyday, evenings and weekends. My passion kept growing and decided to go the next level and do my Diploma in professional Pilates instruction thus being able to teach caddy, wonder chair and other wonderful equipment . Finished it early 2018 and now am a member of Pilates Alliance Australia.
My classes are designed for everyone. They flow , I don’t stop. I give lots of options and progress every exercise from basic to level 3 so every one can work at their own level. I am big on lengthening, posture , stretching and working your whole body in every class concentrating on technique as well. Making classes fun with Polish jokes .
Love doing my privates and small groups as it really caters for individual needs and goals by progressing, assisting using fantastic equipment or just the mat if you want to take it home!

Amelia is a new face to spin, she has a passion for all things health and fitness. She grew up in Hobart before pursuing her Hockey career in Western Australia which lead her to representing Australia and travelling all over the world. She spent two years playing for a club in Europe before returning to Hobart.
Now she is studying to be a nurse whilst making you all work hard in the cycle studio! She loves the warm weather, beach and spending time with her partner, family and adorable spoodle otis. Every chance she gets she is exploring new running tracks and trails, cafes and restaurants with friends.

Amy fell in love with Reformer as a client of The Studio back in 2014. A few years down Amy’s now sharing her passion with others and has been teaching at the studio for a little over two years.
Glutes and Abs are Amy’s favourite sequences to teach so you can be assured each class will have a challenging set or two.
When she’s not at the studio you’ll find Amy at the beach or working at Lululemon making sure we all have our tight needs covered.
Ange is a new instructor at The Studio and excited to join the team!
Having searched for the right fit when it comes to exercise and health, Ange finally discovered barre in 2019. After quickly becoming addicted the training began!
If you’re not reaping the benefits for mind, body and soul in one of Ange’s classes you may find yourself working out beside her in another one of the reformer, yoga or barre classes.
Outside of the studio Ange works in the world of finance, with her main focus on raising her two daughters, Izabella and Nadia. Being a good role model when it comes to health, self love and body image is an important factor in Ange’s journey of motherhood.
You’ll find these gals at the beach with their big choc lab, Charlie, whenever possible.
Anna completed her Reformer Pilates training in 2018. Pilates has been a go-to for Anna for many years, but became a real love after a long rehabilitation post knee injury. Anna loves the way that Pilates stretches and strengthens the body in every move, in a controlled, nurturing way. Anna’s classes are about finding muscles and movement that we forget about every day, and giving your mind a break from the daily routine. When she’s not teaching Pilates, you’ll find Anna sailing, working in the garden on her 5 acre property in Cygnet, or freelance management consulting.
Catherine has been practicing for 9 years and teaching for 5 years. Her yoga career has taken her to Hong Kong, Sydney and Bali, Indonesia. She is passionate about yoga and its capacity to simultaneously condition the body and mind. Her classes are dynamic yet calming and will leave you feeling refreshed.
When she’s not teaching she is outside: either at the beach or the mountains.
Ella is a Hobart local and has been teaching vinyasa yoga, since completing her 200hr YTT in 2018.
Ella fell in love with yoga over a decade ago and continues to practice for the space it gives her on & off the mat – the space to check in, to breathe, and to flow.
Ella hopes that students leave her class feeling full, connected, and celebrated. In her classes you can expect a playful flow with a side of laughter, questions, and deep rest.
Emilie is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Accredited Sports Dietitian. Emilie has aspecial interest and experience in sports nutrition, women’s health and individuals experiencing a troubled relationship with food. Emilie has worked with teams such as the Cricket Tasmania, Geelong Cats and Cricket NSW as well as working with athletes at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, 2010. Emilie has over 10 years’ experience, having worked in hospitals, with elite sports teams and in private practice. Emilie uses a holistic approach to nutrition and delivers a non-diet approach.
Emily Witt- Morrisby
Emily has attended cycle class on and off for the last six years to stay fit and healthy. Emily loves cycle because of its upbeat atmosphere and intense cardio.
Emily joined the studio in September 2019 when completing her cycle instructor course, since then she has been learning through mentoring with other cycle instructors at the studio.
Emily loves to get involved with all types of fitness and started instructing as a way to bring her love
for fitness into her everyday life and challenge herself. When Emily is not at the studio, you can find her camping, bushwalking or at home cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Emily also currently works as a youth worker with homeless youth and is completing her psychology degree.
In Emily’s classes you can expect to find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, upbeat and motivating tracks and class structure that builds on cardio and strength.
Erica Sheldon- Collins
Erica has been practicing Pilates for 10 years, frequenting the Studio on her visits to Hobart, and in 2020 took the step to study at The Studio Academy joining us to teach mat and reformer Pilates.
Originally from Tasmania but spending most of her twenties working in London in the hospitality industry, Erica is drawn to the power of Pilates in helping to maintain mental and physical health while leading a sometimes chaotic life.
When she’s not at The Studio, you may see Erica frequenting one of her favourite hotspots or out on her paddle board in the warmer months.
In Erica’s classes you will find an open space for you to build mobility and strength, leaving each class with a focused and calm mind.
Hannah has always had a passion for health, fitness and wellbeing and fell in love with Barre and Pilates whilst living in Melbourne. Hannah moved back to her home state of Tasmania in 2019. Since then, Hannah has been a regular member at The Studio where she completed her Barre training. She loves that Barre is a full body workout that offers the right amount of flow and fun and will keep you on your toes (literally)! She will always greet you with a friendly smile but will get those legs shaking in no time. When she isn’t at The Studio, Hannah is out for brunch at her favourite cafe, enjoying the Tassie fresh air on a nice work or spending time at home with her family and cat, Romney.
Jo holds a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction and has balanced a busy corporate career with her love of Pilates. These days she calls The Studio Hobart home and has turned her passion for Pilates into a career.
Jo’s warm and welcoming smile will be the first thing you notice when you book into a class with her. She loves supporting and encouraging every client to grow and reach their full potential through the power of movement. Jo’s classes are friendly, form focussed and deliver personalised attention. Continually developing her own skills, Jo creates and delivers innovative programs at The Studio.
Keely found yoga 8 years ago and has been on the path of deepening her practice since then. When not on the mat you can find her out in the bush, climbing rocks, or wandering off the beaten path.
Konrad has vast knowledge when it comes to Exercise and Sport Science. The opportunity he has had to study a degree in this field has allowed him to see the science of human movement from all different angles and this has fostered a deeper appreciation for sport and exercise that he likes to take into his own sessions. He understands the importance of staying active throughout your lifetime and the many benefits this has.
In his sessions, you can expect to build strength, move better, feel energized and develop a positive mental frame to exercise.
After many years of teaching music and then working in the fitness industry, Mary branched out from traditional gym based work to focus on the study and practice of Pilates. After completing a number of Pilates qualifications, Mary established Pilates Tasmania and for some years taught clinical Pilates in her own practice in Battery Point. In 2018, she sold her practice to Emily and Todd and joined The Studio Salamanca. Along with a growing team of Pilates practitioners much of her time these days is taken up teaching and promoting the safe practice of Pilates to individuals and small groups at Studio Hobart, Salamanca and Soho.
As well as an Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method, she has aBachelor of Arts Degree in English, a Diploma of Education and a Diploma of Music with majors in Piano and Voice (University of Tasmania). Mary’s other life: Mary is a sixth generation Tasmanian who lives in Hobart, is married to a Psychiatrist, is the mother and slave of three adult children and delighted grandmother of eight! As well as teaching Pilates, Mary continues to enjoy her passion for music, is a guest fitness presenter on ABC radio and has been a motivational speaker for several years – presenting at conferences throughout Tasmania, as well as interstate and overseas, on a range of topics such as lifestyle, wellbeing, fitness and stress management. Using slides and anecdotes of personal experiences gained whilst walking in the most remote and primitive areas of the world, Mary entertains audiences of all ages with personal, at times intimate, and always colorful tales of her adventures. These include being dropped by helicopter into an active volcano in Siberia, walking in the tracks of bears through the birch forests of Kamchatka, surviving a bus crash on the slopes of the Pamirs in Tajikistan, teaching Mongolian horsemen the idiosyncrasies of the ancient game of Royal Tennis, working with local farmers in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, joining the Buddhist monks in prayer at Ganden, a remote monastery in Tibet,exploring the wadis of Yemen and not too many years ago, she celebrated her 60 th birthday with family and friends on the slopes of Mount Everest in Tibet! Special interests include a continuing passion for trekking in remotes places, singing with the Tasmanian Symphony Chorus, bush walking with family and friends, playing Real Tennis (rather badly) and, when time permits, playing bridge.
Originally drawn to Yoga and Pilates for the physical challenge, Nicolette now values the subtler mental and emotional aspects of these practices even more. Her philosophy is: resilient body = resilient mind. She recently left a long career in corporate finance which put this to the test!
Nicolette’s dedicated yoga practice began over a decade ago – she received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in 2017 and is currently studying towards her 500 hour certification. Practising Pilates at The Studio sparked her interest in Pilates and she recently completed her reformer teaching certification here. She absolutely believes there is place for both Yoga and Pilates in your life – each offers unique benefits.
Nicolette hails from South Africa and landed on the island in 2017.

Passionate about people and improving their wellbeing through movement and targeted muscle activation, Pete is an advocate for the numerous benefits found in Pilates and Yoga. A Diploma Qualified Pilates Instructor, and certified Personal Trainer, Rehab Trainer, Cycle Coach and Boxing Coach, you can expect a slower-paced workout from Pete that focuses on biomechanical movements and technique. With a great love for nature and the outdoors, Pete loves spending his spare time fishing or out for a long run.

Rachel has been teaching freestyle and pre-choreographed aerobics for over 16 years and has a Cert III and Cert IV in fitness. Rachel has taught everything from high impact aerobics and pump, to boxing and core work. She started teaching in order to learn more about her body to avoid injuries and maximise her own workouts but now teaches to help people meet their fitness goals, to challenge them and support them along the way. Spin has always been a passion of hers and has recently discovered a new passion in Barrecode.
Rachel’s life is predominantly in the corporate world so work/life balance is important. With a love for the outdoors, Rachel and her husband try and spend as much time bushwalking, kayaking, camping and traveling as they can and on a rainy day you’ll find Rach curled up with some craft work as it offers the perfect chance to switch off and relax.
Sally is a barre and Pilates mat instructor who joined the Studio HQ in 2020. Drawn to the transformative nature of these movement styles, she loves the balanced strength, mindful connection to the body and the mental break it provides.
An avid aficionado, Sally is herself a little addicted to the burn. This led her into teaching, and since completing her first teacher training in 2016 she honed her skills teaching with Barre Body in Melbourne. Sally aims to bring her love of all things barre into class.
Expect inclusive classes with the chance to perfect your form, focus your mind, play with balance and smile through a practice that will rise to your sense of challenge.
Sally followed her passion for health and wellbeing into a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Public Health Nutrition, and completed her barre and Pilates teacher training with Barre Body.
She swears each hour on your mat is returned as an energy uplift to float you through the daily hustle, and looks forward to seeing you at the barre for a little bend & stretch.
Sam completed her Reformer and Mat Pilates training in 2018 and has been working at The Studio for over 2 years as an instructor.
Alongside instructing Sam is also the General Manager of The Studio so you may well see her around a little more often.
Sam is British and grew up in the UK, moving to Australia in 2017. Sam first lived on the Gold Coast working on the Commonwealth Games as Venue Operations Manager before moving to Hobart.
When not at The Studio Sam enjoys trying to ‘love running’ and spending time decorating her home.
Shenna has been involved in many facets of fitness for over 20 years, however her number one passion is Cycle!
She believes no matter what level of fitness you are, everyone can take part in and enjoy a cycle class. Music and motivation skills are what she believes are her strengths in helping everyone enjoy their experience on the bike and keep them
coming back for more!
Between classes Shenna works in the real estate industry looking after peoples investment properties, and down time
is spent with her two fur babies, friends and the garden.
Tijana Gavanski Muc
Tijana Gavanski has graduated Sport and Fitness in Serbia (Europe). She has over 10 years of experience in fitness industry working on various programs and goals with her clients.
Tijana started her career in Serbia, but later decided to move to Middle East and work in 5* hotel, which later led her to becoming manager of luxurious fitness center. After 7 years, she finally moves and settles in Australia.
Tijana holds many international and domestic (Australian) certificates and diplomas across various fields of fitness (power bags, battle ropes, pilates, etc.) Always willing to help and share her knowledge with others, Tijana is real gem to work and grow with.
Yanny started her Pilates journey in 2011 in Hong Kong with Polestar Pilates.
Pilates keeps her balanced and energized, maximizing the health of her mind and body whilst minimizing injuries.
She is qualified in Mat, Reformer and Studio Comprehensive for the private and group classes.
With a group fitness class background, combined with loads of energy, passion and a funny personality (beware: it is very contagious) and her thirst for learning and sharing her knowledge,
Yanny creates an educative yet enjoyable and fun atmosphere in each of her sessions.
Zulaine is originally from Brazil when she earned her Bachelor degree in Physical Education in 2011 and have been working with Pilates since then.
Zulaine came from Sydney in January of 2020. When she’s not at The Studio you’ll find Zulaine traveling, or exploring around Tasmania.
In Zulaine’s classes, you will find a perfect blend of stretch and strength. You can also work your coordination and learn a bit more about the Classical Pilates method.
Emily has lived in Hobart her whole life and has been practicing pilates the past few years. This year she decided to turn her passion of practicing pilates to teaching pilates.
Her favourite exercises are all things glutes and adductor (inner thigh) work. In Emily’s classes you will find fun music to help you through that slow pilates counting. Emily’s classes are the perfect combination of mobility, stability and strength work. Emily closes off her classes with release work as she knows how important this is after sitting in an office chair all day.
In her spare time Emily loves spending time with her family, friends and dog Benson. Emily loves cooking whether that is a sweet or savoury dish, her favourites are any type of pasta dish or a chocolate dessert. After pilates her favourite activity is to enjoy the delightful coffee spots in Hobart with a friend. Her favourites being – Bear with Me, Pigeon Hole Cafe and Capulus.
Emily hopes to inspire clients to love and appreciate Pilates that little bit more after the end of her classes.
Georgie has a deep passion and curiosity for all things mind, body and spirit. She believes that incorporating both meaningful movement and stillness in everyday plays an essential part in our overall well-being and happiness.
With a passion for movement you can often find Georgie in a number of different classes including Yoga, Reformer Pilates and of course her favourite, Mat Pilates. When she’s not in the studio, Georgie is busy being Mum to her two children.
After discovering her love of Mat Pilates, Georgie aspired to be a Group instructor with the hopes of instilling that same sense of passion onto others.
Georgie’s classes are fun-filled with creative movement and designed to challenge you to deliver improved balance, strength and core stability.
Hayley has a strong passion for all things health, movement and wellness. Drawn to mindful practices that connect breath with movement, Hayley is a big believer in moving to build strength mentally as well as physically.
After 6+ years of regular yoga practice and a strong passion for Pilates, Hayley completed her Reformer instructor training with The Studio Academy.
When attending her classes you can expect a mixture of strength and stretch, with the intention of deepening the mind-body connection and working to find balance through mindful movement. Hayley’s goal is to have you walk out of class feeling refreshed and re-energised, both physically and mentally.

Hello, I have been associated with the Studio almost since it first opened in 2004 – way back then it was Club Salamanca’s Pilates Studio. I enjoyed Pilates so much that I was persuaded to undertake Reformer Level 1 training with Helen Tardent from Sydney in 2006. I can still remember my high level of anxiety as I prepared my exam videos! I then did the Reformer Level 1 course plus the Floor (Mat) Level 1 course with Allan Menezies, from the Pilates Institute of Australasia. Allan worked with us for an extra day after the Floor course, introducing us to his Pilates on the Ball program – this was so hard that my abs needed a week off to
In February 2010, I joined Tensegrity Training’s APMA Level 2 course – this gave me basic skills in
using the range of studio equipment designed by Joseph Pilates, such as the Wunda Chair and the Cadillac. Wow, what an eye opener! What an amazing man Joseph must have been!
I have since upgraded this to a Diploma through Tensegrity Training. I also hold a Diploma of Remedial Massage, and firmly believe in the complementary value of relaxation/remedial massage and Pilates – they just go together so well!
Since 2011, I have been on the teaching staff at Island Health College, but that will end in March 2020, with the graduation of the current students.
Since late 2018 I have been involved with several Tensegrity Training students who are now well on the way to becoming instructors – it has been a delight to watch their emerging skills, confidence, and commitment to Pilates!
When not doing Pilates, massaging, teaching, (finally!!) looking after 2 grandchildren, or learning
more about Pilates, I loves travelling, especially overseas!
Jane has lived in Hobart all her life and thinks there is nowhere better in the world. She has been a fitness instructor for many years and cycle classes are her favourite style to take. She loves the improvement in fitness it gives, the music and how good you feel when the class is done.
Winnie started her Pilates journey in 2018 under her chiropractor’s recommendation and fell in love with this exercise since then. With more Pilates practice and deeper knowledge, she has completed her reformer teaching certification in The Studio Academy and expected to help clients benefit from this wonderful regimen.
Prior to that she had practised Yoga for 5 years and completed 400 hours Yoga Teacher Certification in 2019.
Winnie takes body and mind connection as top priority when practising Yoga and Pilates.
In her Pilates session, she likes cueing with imagination and targeted muscle activation to help clients build the connection to align themselves and recruit working muscles. She prefers to set a challenge in each session and motivates everyone to
explore their potentials with modifications provided.
You will feel a very friendly and energetic atmosphere in her class.
Yoga has been a part of Cassie’s life for 12 years, as a mother of two small girls, yoga offers her a chance to reground. Her practice has also helped her grow stronger, and more flexible, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires her to live each moment more mindfully. In 2012 Cassie completed her level 1 Reiki Course In GOA India, and later her 200 hour training with OM Factory in New York City. Upon completing her certificate at OM Factory, she set her sights upon teaching Yoga for injury prevention in athletes. And continues to find passion in sharing her knowledge of yoga with those around her. In her classes, she combines creative, and challenging sequencing to help you deepen your practice whilst quieting your mind.
As a DJ, she has always found a strong connection between healing, and sound. This naturally drew Cassie to South Bath Meditations, which in turn has led Cassie to further her studies in sound healing in order to help those around her by using Crystal Bowls as a way of healing.
She feels she will always be a student of the practice and is deeply grateful for the loving wisdom from her teachers, and her students that have shared their practice with her along the way.
She seeks to help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga and sound healing, her hope is that you leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, stronger, and more balanced.

She got into Pilates years ago when a physio referred her to help rebalance her body after a back injury. She fell in love with the Pilates method and became addicted from the get go!
During her own practice she found herself constantly reflecting in awe at the variety of movement on offer during a Pilates session and how an individual is able to build an amazing amount of strength mentally and physically. With a desire to progress her practice, build her knowledge and share it with others, she completed her Diploma of Professional Pilates Instructing in 2020.
You can expect a full body session in Joey’s classes, with plenty of opportunities to challenge and build strength as well as take a breath and release, all whilst being mindful and in control of your movements.
She loves being part of the Studio team where she is able to share her knowledge of Pilates and have a positive impact on those who come to her classes.
Tessa has been practicing Pilates for almost a decade after quickly becoming addicted to the mental and physical benefits.
She joined The Studio team early in 2021 after completing her reformer Pilates training with The Study Academy in 2020.
Tessa is currently studying Social Work at UTAS. When not at the studio or studying you can find her camping, at the beach with her dog Ferg or at home cooking for her family and friends.
Lizzie is a qualified Barre instructor and a practising contemporary dance artist currently based in Nipaluna/Hobart. Beginning her formal contemporary dance and movement training at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2018, she graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) from The University of Melbourne. With over 18 years of experience in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and contemporary dance, Lizzie brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the health and wellbeing industry.
Since relocating to Lutruwita/Tasmania in 2021, Lizzie has adapted her skills and pursued other methods of movement, developing a passion for the Barre and Pilates methods as a way of building and maintaining movement ability and strength.
She completed her Barre Teacher Training through Barre Body, with help from The Studio HQ, in 2021 and is currently studying for her Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology with Tensegrity Training.
Lizzie is excited to join The Studio HQ team this year and brings her prior dance training and knowledge of contemporary movement into her classes for a fun and energising workout.
Tracey is a reformer Pilates instructor who joined the Studio HQ in 2021.
Tracey has practiced Pilates for several years and has enjoyed the benefits of building her strength, control and coordination through this practice.
Pilates has helped Tracey in her endurance running pursuits. Tracey has a background in sports science and a degree in nutrition and dietetics.
When not at the Studio HQ Tracey works in health management. Tracey is a keen runner, cyclist, gardener, cook, and proud fur parent outside of work. Energetic and curious in nature, Tracey aims to design sessions that build confidence, strength and endurance and encourage clients to explore the benefits of Pilates.
In designing her programs Tracey focuses on providing a whole-body workout combining stability, mobility, strength and breath.
Isabel began practicing yoga as a supplement to pre-professional ballet training. She has continued to follow the yoga path over the last 6 years, undertaking a 200hr YTT in 2019 and currently studying towards her post-graduate 350hr certification.
In her classes, Isabel prioritises holding a safe space that embodies trust and kindness, with an emphasis on creative flow and correct alignment. She hopes to share with others the sense of balance that yoga has brought to her own life.
Outside of teaching yoga, Isabel is a musician and facilitates Mantra & Meditation sessions around Hobart.
